Kimora Lee Simmons

Kimora Lee Simmons

I am always inspired by women who could do it all. Kimora Lee Simmons is one of these women. She’s beautiful, talented and a mom! If you are like me, after you’ve had a few kids, feeling like you have more to give to anyone other than those kids is rare. Usually, by the end of the day, I’m “gived out”. I’m not usually one for reality TV, but Kimora fascinates me. I can’t help but think, as I watch her on her show, how well she would fit in here as a Nice Girl.

Kimora Lee Simmons not only gives out juice cups to her own sweet babes, she then has energy to create Baby Phat fragrance, bath and body products, her own line of cosmetics, clothing line and premiere season three of Kimora: Life in the Fab Lane on Style. Whew! And she makes it look so easy!

Well, sorta.

Djimon Hounsou isn’t helping, it seems. LOL! Follow Kimora as she takes us from kitchen to London to the world on the third season of Kimora: Life in the Fab Lane, premiering March 21, at 9/8 central, on Style.

Tom SchanleyThis week’s Nice Boy fell into our laps as a very pleasant surprise. Tom Schanley is scheduled to appear in the next episode of Castle entitled The Mistress Always Spanks Twice. In this epsidoe, William Carraway, played by Schanley, becomes a suspect when one of his known sexual “turn-ons” matches the evidence in the homicide of a New York dominatrix.

As an Actor, Tom Schanley is known mostly for his work in television, on shows like Criminal Minds, Dexter and the CSI’s, but he has also had the privilege of working with some of the cinematic icons of our time:  Academy Award winning director Ed Zwick and Denzel Washington in Courage Under Fire,  Mel Gibson and Julia Roberts in Conspiracy Theory among others.   Along with his writing partner Jon Lindstrom, Tom wrote and executive produced the feature film The Hard Easy, starring David Boreanaz, Bruce Dern and Vera Farmiga.

Season Two of SouthLAnd Premieres on TNT

Season two of SouthLAnd will premiere Tuesday, Mar. 2nd, at 10/9 central, on TNT, and there will be a lot to look forward to. All the action and drama you’ve come to expect from this show will return with new situations to deal with, both in their personal lives and their professional lives.

The show gives us a close-up look inside an L.A. police unit as they deal with crime on the streets of East Los Angeles as well as their own, personal lives. Season 1 introduces us to John Cooper (Michael Cudlitz), a seasoned police officer who has the job of training rookie Ben Sherman (Ben McKenzie); Detective Lydia Adams (Regina King) and her partner, Detective Russell Clarke (Tom Everett Scott); Detective Daniel “Sal” Salinger (Michael McGrady ), who is in charge of gang detectives Nate Moretta (Kevin Alejandro) and Sammy Bryant (Shawn Hatosy); and finally, Chickie Brown (Arija Bareikis), who aspires to be the first woman on the SWAT team.
Amaury Nolasco is Detective Rene Cordero

The series left us with Detective Clarke getting shot, so season two introduces Detective Rene Cordero (“Prison Break’s” Amaury Nolasco) as Detective Adams’ new partner, leaving us (and her) to wonder if Clarke will be back at all. The episode is called “Phase Three”, and the synopsis reads: Lydia and Russell’s replacement, Rene Cordero, investigate a possible abduction of an elderly man by a known drug addict. Nate and Sammy investigate a freeway shooting and wind up threatening the integrity of a major undercover operation. And Chickie finds herself in the middle of a mini-riot after her new partner shoots at a 13-year-old boy. Take a look:

I almost missed this awesome show when NBC cancelled it so quickly, after airing only a few episodes. It was on my list of shows to catch up on and then it was just gone. Thankfully, TNT snatched it up, and what a perfect fit. Ben McKenzie plays the rookie so well, and has the right look for the part, but watch out for him. You know what they say about the sweet, clean-cut, Nice Boy-types. Dynamite!
Immediately following the premiere, join in the Live Chat with SouthLAnd cast members.

Nice Boy of the Week: Ben McKenzie

Ben McKenzie

Ben McKenzie

With the premiere of SouthLAnd’s second season on TNT, how could we not vote for Ben McKenzie as our Nice Boy for this week? Ben plays Officer Ben Sherman on SouthLAnd, but he is best known for his role as Ryan Atwood on The O.C. He appeared in 88 Minutes in 2007 and in 2005 made his feature film debut in Junebug, with Amy Adams. Other television credits include JAG and The District.

Ben garnered multiple Teen Choice Awards for his role on The O.C., as well as the Amanda Award for Outstanding Performance in Feature Film: Junebug and BRAVO Gold Otto (Germany) for Best Male Actor: The O.C.

Although Ben majored in Economics and Foreign Affairs at the University of Virginia, he got into acting during his first few years there. He moved to New York where acting opportunities were more numerous, and landed a role in the off-Broadway play Life Is A Dream. From there, Ben moved to L.A. and began his O.C. days. The rest is history.

“The Vampire Diaries” Expected Second Season Renewal; “Supernatural” Sixth Season?

February 18, 2010 by BethAnne
Filed under News, Shows By Network, the CW

The CW announced that The Vampire Diaries will be back for a second season, but the surprise is that Supernatural will also return for season six.

While many Supernatural fans had hopes for another season, Eric Kripke had only signed up for five seasons. In fact, when Kripke was asked at last year’s Comic Con whether he would be open to a sixth, he wasn’t sure but didn’t seem very interested either. It could be that he was well into this current season to think much about what lies ahead. As it is, Kripke is likely to step down as show runner, making way for Executive Producer, Sera Gamble, to take over. Kripke will stay on as Executive Producer and will be very much on hand, but I trust Sera Gamble, after talking with her last year and getting inside her brain a little.

Kripke maintains that this season will finish its story arc, so fans need not worry of its being dragged out until we all lose interest. Next season will be a new story and I’m sure the season finale will launch much speculation as to what that story could be.

SUPERNATURAL has one of the most loyal audiences of any show on television and does heroic work in a perennially tough time period. It has improved over last season among women and adults 18-34 (29% and 8%, respectively) this season, a remarkable accomplishment for a fifth-year show. (theCW)

Supernatural’s lead-in, The Vampire Diaries, will be back next year, and I have to say that with its twists and surprises, Thursday night’s have become an adrenaline rush for me. For two solid hours I’m kept at the edge of my seat, hugging my pillow and, I might add, I have no nails left.

The Vampire Diaries and Supernatural return with new episodes March 25th on the CW.
