Do You Remember: Journeyman

By  |

The NBC drama Journeyman debuted back on September 24, 2007, starring actor Kevin McKidd – one season before he made his debut on the medical juggernaut Grey’s Anatomy – and actress Moon Bloodgood – a few seasons before the TNT post-apocalypse series Falling Skies debut.

Journeyman centered on Dan Vasser (McKidd), a newspaper reporter living with his wife Katie (actress Gretchen Egolf, who has appeared in Roswell and Law & Order: SVU) and young son Zack in San Francisco. For an unknown reason, one day he begins “jumping” backward in time. He soon learns that each series of jumps follows the life of a person whose destiny he seems meant to change. Dan’s jumping affects his family life and his job, and instills suspicion in his brother Jack (Reed Diamond from The Man in the High Castle and Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), a police detective. While in the past, Dan reconnects with his ex-fiancée, Livia (Bloodgood), whom he had believed was killed in a plane crash but who is actually a fellow time traveler.

The 13-episode, one season show was created by Kevin Falls, who has gone on to work on the TV shows Franklin & Bash, Minority Report and Pitch. The series suffered from low ratings during its short run with NBC officially cancelling it in April of 2008, but the final episode actually aired on December 19, 2007.

Among the guest stars on the show, who have gone on to bigger roles, include the following:

Joel Gretsch, who has appeared on The 4400 and NCIS;
Raphael Sbarge, who had a long-standing, recurring role on Once Upon a Time;
John Billingsley, who has appeared in True Blood and the short-lived series Intelligence;
Annie Wersching, who has starred in 24, The Vampire Diaries and is currently on Marvel’s Runaways;
