Today’s Women Behind the Scenes spotlight is shone on writer, producer and series creator Liz Kruger.

Liz got her start by writing the script for the Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen 1999 movie Passport to Paris, which she followed up by Olsen twins movies Our Lips Are Sealed, in 2000, and The Challenge in 2003.

Jump to 2010 when Liz wrote an episode for the short-lived comedy The Troop and she was also a part of the writer’s room for the short-lived medical drama Miami Medical that starred Under the Dome star Mike Vogel and Once Upon a Time star Lana Parrilla. She followed that up with working as a consulting producer on yet another short-lived series, this time the 2011 period piece Pan Am.

It was in 2011 where things changed. She and her executive producer husband Craig Shapiro created the popular USA Network series Necessary Roughness, where they oversaw that series through all three years of its run.

Several seasons later, in 2014, she served as a writer and executive producer for Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce and followed that up with being an executive producer and writer on the second season of Extant, the CBS Halle Berry vehicle. Last year, she was a consulting producer and writer on the new Michael Weatherly drama Bull.

This summer, she and her husband Craig are the creators, executive producers and writers of the recently launched sci-fi thriller Salvation that stars Jennifer Finnigan (Tyrant), Santiago Cabrera (Heroes, The Musketeers and Big Little Lies), Ian Anthony Dale (Hawaii Five-0 and Murder in the First) and Charlie Rowe (Red Band Society).

You can watch Salvation on CBS on Wednesday nights at 9/8c.
