COMIC-CON 2017: Friday highlights

By  |

We are now halfway through 2017 Comic-Con International – can you believe it? Day Two consisted of quite a few celebrity encounters for some of the Nice Girls. Read on to find out what the highlights were for the team…

Rueben: Today was a crazy day for me, spending all day in Ballroom 20. First of all, we got to see the first 8 minutes of the Psych Christmas movie and it was hysterical as was the panel with all of the cast except Timothy Omundson, who suffered a mild stroke in May. GASP!! We also got a great sizzle reel of The 100 before their panel and a sneak peek of the first 5 or so minutes of The Gifted pilot episode. I really liked what I saw for that new show!! Best of all, we got to see the season premiere of season 3 of  Outlander, which was AWESOME!!!

Melissa: True story: while teaching a high school journalism class about interviewing, I made a teenage girl cry because I showed them a photo of Grant Gustin in the press room for The Flash. She could not handle the fact that I’d interviewed him. This photo from the WB party might make her pass out:

Lisa: Meeting the Shadowhunters cast & going to Conan with the cast of Game of Thrones was the highlight of my day. Tonight I’m off to MTV Fandom Fest and last night I had a blast at the Pepsi #Fandomfest. We were front row for Big Boi and it was awesome! Sleepy Brown danced with us & Big Boi gave me his towel. LOL we were so hyped! Also at Pepsi’s Fandom Party, I met Parisa Fitz-Henley who plays Figi on  Midnight, Texas. I’m so excited for everyone to see Midnight, Texas. Tune in Monday at 10/9c on NBC!

Roz: Today’s highlight was seeing two celebs walking outside the con:

My highlight for yesterday was the astounding work made by people at the Her Universe Fashion Show. Or that I went to a party for the OTW and found out by the end that Misha Collins had crashed it in costume! (OTW is the big group that runs Archive of Our Own, and they generally work towards making sure that all fans can create Transformative works.)

Leah: On Day 2 of Comic-Con, Leah got to hang out with the executive producers and cast of iZombie in the press room. Click through the gallery to see some of her snaps:

Mynda: It was all about Vikings for Mynda! Not only did she see Alexander Ludwig, Michael Hirst, Gustaf Skarsgard and Alex Høgh Andersen pose for fans in front of burning longship at the Vikings funeral, but she also sat in on the Vikings panel where former star Travis Fimmel played one of his famous pranks and made a hysterical and surprise appearance! Check out some of the videos that she captured of these two events:

That’s a wrap on Day Two! We’re halfway through Comic-Con 2017 now. Stay tuned for more highlights and be sure to follow our Instagram, @nicegirlstv!
