CONVICTION: Wrongs and Rights {Recap}

By  |

Conviction returned from it’s holiday hiatus and went full force into a touch case, this time a young woman raped by a star athlete has been accused of his murder.

With the last case still stinging for Hayes (Hayley Atwell), the whole team spends most of the time while Hayes in around making sure she’s fine, especially as it is more and more clear as the days pass that the rape victim isn’t the actual murderer.

The team uncovers that the university was not allowing this rape case to be fully investigated and more women also accused the murder victim of being a rapist. These women could have been responsible for the basketball player’s death, though they weren’t. The school’s rape crisis counselor killed the basketball player after she had failed to get justice in her own rape case before.

Maxine (Merrin Dungey) and Sam (Shawn Ashmore) spend time to find out two key pieces of information – where the rape counselor was injured and where a potential suspect was at the time of the murder – but they are folding the team together as others struggle.

EMILY KINNEY, MERRIN DUNGEY, SHAWN ASHMORE

While this case is on-going, Hayes and Tess (Emily Kinney) are dealing with interpersonal issues. Tess has been friendly with the man she accused of murdering her aunt but has yet to tell him that information while being a friend and going on a date soon enough. Hayes, too, is dealing with her love life as she and Wallace (Eddie Cahill) slept together before they returned to New York and are trying to figure out how to proceed.

Conviction airs two more episodes on Sundays at 10PM/9PM Central on ABC.
