TIMELESS Roundtable: The Capture of Benedict Arnold

By  |

Timeless wrapped up it’s fall finale this week. The team, and Flynn, end up in the middle of Benedict Arnold’s betrayal. This leads them to David Rittenhouse. Which is good (maybe they can stop Rittenhouse before it starts) and bad (the man is evil) Below are our thoughts on the episode.

Benedict Arnold is the focal point of the episode. What do you think about using one of America’s most well-known villains as a way to talk about Rittenhouse?
Leah: I like how Timeless uses a mix of people I do and don’t recognize. (JFK’s Vegas Mistress) Using Benedict as a counterpoint to the team “betraying” history worked for me.
Roz: I like when we see the famous and the not so famous in episodes. But using Arnold to highlight what happens with Lucy was a great way to focus on how they team is changing history.

On a scale of one to ten, how happy are you with the team of Lucy, Rufus, and Wyatt after this episode? Are you liking how they work as a team?

Leah: 12? I love Team Time Travel when they are insync. I need them to get Lucy back because three of them together are adorable and bad ass.
Roz: I’m at a 10, especially since it’s always a new way to keep history as it was. But yes, get Lucy back!!! Flynn is clearly not okay.

If your loved ones were erased would you want to know?
Leah: No! Ignorance is bliss.
Roz: That’s hard for me to say, but yeah I don’t think I’d want to know what the other me went through to compare.

If Flynn doesn’t feel like Lucy is actually on his side how will that change his view of the journal and his mission?
Leah: Is it possible for Flynn to be even more off his rocker? It’s hard for me to figure out Flynn. He is doing bad things for a good reason. If he doesn’t think Lucy is on his side he is going to really start unraveling.
Roz: I think his mission is done now, or that is until he sees that the future isn’t much changed and his family is still dead. Flynn feels like the worst sort of guy who can’t accept the change in his world.

Also…how many times is that now that Rufus has saved the day?
Leah: All. Of. The. Times. And in time periods that were not good for anyone of color. #teamrufus
Roz: most of the time and I love him for it. It’s great to me that Rufus does good when people of color are disregarded.

TIMELESS will return Monday January 16th on NBC
