PREVIEW: The Librarians…And the Rise of Chaos

By  |

Tonight TNT will air the season premiere of the third season of The Librarians, which finds our team of librarians – once again – working to save an artifact, this time from six hooded druids. But that case isn’t the main focus on the premiere episode, as the title above clearly states.

The team – Colonel Eve Baird, Jacob Stone, Cassandra Cillian and Ezekiel Jones and their intrepid, albeit, a little clumsy, leader Flynn Carsen – are dealing with a case where it’s pure evil versus pure good, as the God of Chaos was awoken by a retired American military man while vacationing in Egypt.

Without spoiling too much of the story – as that isn’t any fun or fair to the legend of fans of this movie franchise turned TV series that is whimsical, humorous and educational all wrapped into one – the team spends most of their time at the Science Museum in Boston where Jake and Ezekial get to “play” on a submarine and they pull out all the stops to save the world once again.

Suffice it to say, though, the team has to use all of their unique talents and skills – which includes an impromptu sing-along that will have viewers in stitches – to stop the God of Chaos from opening a portal to pure evil, which will, naturally, wreak havoc on the world. Thankfully, there isn’t anyone more capable than the Librarians to stop this from happening.

This season will also find the Librarians up against a new foe in the form of DOSA, the Department of Statistical Anomalies, led by special recurring guest star Vanessa Williams. It is going to prove interesting how this new agency will stack up against the Librarians and who will come out on top.

Make sure to check out the season premiere of The Librarians on TNT tonight (November 20) at 8/7c.

NOTE: Tor Books is issuing the first book in a new trilogy based on the hit series: The Librarians and the Lost Lamp by New York Times Best-Selling Author Greg Cox. You can find the book at Amazon.
