Today’s Women Behind the Scenes spotlight is shone on new show creators and writers Nichole Millard and Kathryn Price.

These ladies – who also happen to be attorneys – started out doing very different projects. From 2002 through 2005 Kathryn worked on various reality series, including The Bachelor, High School Reunion, The Will and The Starlet. In 2001, Nichole worked as an assistant to one of the producers on the box office film Antitrust.

But it was in 2007 when they wrote the Dwayne Johnson-led box office film The Game Plan. They followed that up by writing an episode of the 2008 web series Imaginary Bitches. And last TV season they were working on a potential FOX pilot called In Deep that was going to be about FBI agents who lived double lives, investigating a new case each season. The first season was to revolve around a murder investigation in the sexy world of competitive surfing on the North Shore of Oahu.

However, it is their latest project that is getting them a lot of worldwide attention. They are the series creators and writers on the new Freeform drama Guilt that stars British actress Daisy Head (her dad is Anthony Head of Buffy and Merlin fame, who also has a recurring role as her stepfather in the series) as American college student Grace Atwood, who is suspected of killing her best friend Molly in a very Amanda Knox-like scenario. The cast also includes Titanic actor Billy Zane.

The team are also the writers behind the upcoming YA film Fallen (expected to be released in September of this year) that is based on the international best-selling novel of the same name from author Lauren Kate that focuses on Lucinda “Luce” Price, a strong-willed seventeen-year-old living a seemingly ordinary life until she is accused of a crime she didn’t commit (sound familiar). Luc is sent off to the imposing Sword & Cross reform school, where she finds herself being courted by two mysterious students to whom she feels oddly connected.

The next new episode of Guilt will air on Freeform on Monday, July 11 at 9/8c.
