Good Witch Recap: “The Trouble With Love”

By  |

Last night’s episode of Good Witch focused a lot on love. The love between a mother and son; the love between a mother and daughter; the love between a man and a woman and the love between a surrogate father and a young girl who desperately misses her late father.

There were a number of different levels of love on display in the episode and each one had a meaning and purpose behind it. Let’s take a look at each of them:

Martha and Michael – Middleton’s mayor is blind (or at least throwing a blind eye) to the truth of her grown son, who has clearly been pampered far too long and needs to grow up.

Cassie and Grace – They both loved a man who was everything to them (Cassie husband and Grace’s dad) and taken from them far too soon.

Tara and Brandon – They’ve been dealing with their opposing opinions on becoming parents and maybe now will start off a little easier by, of all things, getting a puppy.

Stephanie and Ben – Thanks to Stephanie not being honest with Ben about her mother visiting Middleton, she has lost a man that she claimed to care about; but does she really love him and vice versa.

Sam and Grace – Grace is really missing her late father and since Sam is helping her with her driving lessons – and he has become a surrogate father of sorts to her – she is holding onto what she has right now. But, thankfully, he is helping her move on by giving her a chance to help other people.

Then there are the complications (of sorts) between Cassie and Sam with the arrival of her old friend John. Sam and John obviously both care about Cassie and both would like to have a relationship with her, but Cassie isn’t quite ready for that. However, it is clear that she has a connection with both of them – her history with John and her present with Sam. Let’s just hope that she makes the right choice.
