PERSON OF INTEREST: Kevin Chapman and Showrunner Greg Plageman on Season 5

By  |

Our very long wait is nearly over, POI fans! The fifth and final (sniff!) season of Person of Interest will finally be aired starting in 1 week on May 3rd at 10/9c. CBS gives a quick synopsis and a fun trailer reel here.

Basically, Finch, Reese, and Root work to resuscitate the Machine, find Shaw, and save the world from Samaritan while Fusco deals with the aftermath of the deaths of Dominic and Elias.

What seems like eons ago, we sat down with the cast for some fun interviews in the San Diego Comic Con pressroom and it is finally time to share them. It’s not uncommon for there to be people at pressroom tables who have never watched the show and really aren’t that into it, but we had a great table this year of big POI fans, so in between the interviews with cast and creators, we carried on our own discussion of season 4 and what we expected for season 5.

Keep in mind that it was not confirmed by CBS that the show was cancelled until after these interviews (and all 13 episodes of season 5) were filmed.

Check out our video below where we talk with Kevin Chapman (Fusco) and Showrunner Greg Plageman about the differences between Samaritan and the Machine, artificial intelligence in general, what Fusco really knows about the Machine, Chapman’s goals for Fusco, and how they will approach season 5 from a story perspective.

Person of Interest Season 5 begins on May 3rd at 10/9c on CBS!
