Let’s Talk About the Ladies of “Stitchers”

By  |

“Stitchers” returns tonight on Freeform, and while there are several reasons you should be watching this show, the three leading ladies are well worth a closeup. Of course, “Stitchers” centers around Kirsten Clark (Emma Ishta), however she wouldn’t be in the position she’s in without the help of Maggie (Salli Richardson-Whitfield), who actually drafted her for the Stitchers project, and Camille (Allison Scagliotti), her roommate and tech geek. Let’s zero in on these three women.

Kirsten Clark – Although Kirsten has no sense of the passing of time or working emotions, somehow she seems to be sort of the bulldog of the three. Once she gets hold of a clue or possible clue, she will follow it to its very end, even if it’s a dead end. She’s a puzzle solver. And she has almost a photographic memory, uh, except for anything about her parents. But this memory of hers allows her to pick out the littlest things while she’s in a stitch. She has no fear so she often charges ahead, sometimes on her own, before anyone even knows she’s gone. While this may be a source of frustration and aggravation for Maggie, things get done when Kirsten is on the case.

Maggie Baptiste – Speaking of Maggie, she is the leader of the Stitchers project and trained in covert ops. Over the course of the first season of the show, Maggie has transitioned from detached boss lady to a fierce protector of her crew. She will get in the face of her boss to make sure that bad things don’t happen to any of her people. Though soft-spoken and mild-mannered, I wouldn’t want her as an enemy.

Camille Engelson – Don’t be fooled by this sassy-mouthed cupcake. She can charm a snake out of a basket. Camille is the computer science graduate who uses her skills to get information from places that most people can’t. She’s a loyal friend to Kirsten, even when she can’t understand her all of the time. Things may not have started out that way between these two roomies, but just try to hurt Kirsten on Camille’s watch. The kitten has really sharp claws.

Tonight, as you tune in to the season two premiere (10p.m./9 CST) pay close attention to these women and how they work together, support each other and yes, annoy each other. They are three very good reasons to watch “Stitchers”.
