Woman of the Week

By  |

This week one woman in particular stood out. Let us know who your thoughts on the women of TV in the comments below and see who we picked as our, Woman of the Week.

Alycia Debnam-Carey who played Lexa, the Commander of the Grounders, on The 100

Nominated by BobCat: Lexa had been the enemy of the Sky People since last season and even though she showed signs of changing and attempted to bring peace to her people, you wanted to like her, but knew you could never really trusted her. Her actions of late seemed to be influence by her feeling for Clarke and in the process, brought animosity among her Grounders. In this week’s episode, 13, her relationship with Clarke comes full circle and then she takes a bullet meant for Clarke. As she lays dying, Lexa is calm and at peace, trusting that the spirit of the commander will live on. Now that Lexa is dead, there’s nothing from stopping the Grounders retaliating and attacking Clarke’s people. It can’t be easy playing a character the audience is supposed to hate, but without Debnam-Carey and Lexa, The 100 now has a void to fill.

Seconded by Rueben: Yes!! I have to agree with BobCat about Alycia Debnam-Carey. I wouldn’t be able to say anything better than what Nicole said, but I agree wholeheartedly!!!

Leah reads constantly, sing incessantly and watches TV what her Mother would consider an unhealthy amount. You can find her on twitter @IamPollyP or contact her via email at leah@nicegirlstv.com
