UNDERGROUND: Meet WGN America’s New Show

By  |

On the heels of successful shows on WGN America from Salem to Outsiders, the network is about to premiere their first original scripted show, Underground.

As the title implies, the show is about the journey of a series of slaves on a plantation to the Underground Railroad on their way from slavery and into freedom.

Back in August, the show’s creators and cast were out in LA to talk with members of the press. Over the next week, we’ll reveal more from those interviews, but to get started, Underground‘s co-creators, Misha Green and Joe Pokaski, share the story of how the show’s premise was started and how it came to be.

Check it out below.

Underground premieres on Wednesday, March 9 at 10/9c on WGN America.

Despite her better judgment, she enjoys shows about the shallow sides of her home city, but will also find time to watch iZombie, Jane the Virgin, and much more.
