What I Am Thankful For This Year

By  |

Every year when we here in the States celebrate Thanksgiving, we all give thanks for the people, places and/or things for which we are most thankful to have in our lives. But when you are an avid TV viewer like those of us ladies here at NiceGirlsTV, you can’t help (or at least I can’t help), but be thankful for so many TV-related “things”.

Here is my list for this year:

Outlander 2014

1. Outlander – This Starz drama, based on the international best-seller by Diana Gabaldon, may have debuted last August, but it certainly made an impression on countless viewers all over the globe, garnering ample attention for its lead actors Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe. The show returned for the second half of its debut season this past April and its second season return sometime (hopefully) in early 2016 is highly anticipated.

Jane the Virgin #2

2. Jane the Virgin – This deliciously delightful dramedy debuted on The CW in October 2014 and won the hearts of viewers mainly due to the performance of lead star Gina Rodriguez. The show may have the most ridiculous storyline, but it has become an instant favorite for me and I look forward to every new episode.

Daredevil Costume

3. Netflix – Programming isn’t just limited to your TV anymore. A lot of people don’t even watch their TV anymore (gasp, the horror of that idea!) because they would rather watch programming on their computers or phones; and one of the most interesting places to watch programming is Netflix, which has given fans – especially pop culture fans – with Marvel’s Daredevil and Marvel’s Jessica Jones (among countless other options).

Greg Berlanti

4. Greg Berlanti – For those unaware, Greg Berlanti is the executive producer of current hit shows Arrow, The Flash, Blindspot, The Mysteries of Laura, Supergirl and the upcoming DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. He is also the man behind Everwood, Eli Stone, No Ordinary Family and Political Animals. He also worked on shows like Dawson’s Creek and Brothers & Sisters. Greg hasn’t stopped there, as he has two pilots in development.

What are you thankful for this year – either on television or in your everyday life. Please share in our comments section below and have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!
