VIDEO! Nice Boy of the Week: Colin Donnell

By  |

A talented television and stage actor, Colin Donnell is best known for his role as Billy Crocker in Broadway’s Anything Goes and the late Tommy Merlyn on The CW’s Arrow, but this may all change now that NBC’s Chicago Med premiered this week, featuring Colin as trauma fellow Dr. Connor Rhodes.

Born in St Louis, Missouri, Colin would go on to live in New York City – the perfect place for a stage actor like Colin! He would go on to star in Broadway shows like Jersey Boys, Anything Goes and Violet, as well as off-Broadway shows like Meet Me in St Louis, Merrily We Roll Along and Lady, Be Good!. Colin made his TV debut as Mike Rushkin in ABC’s short-lived drama Pan Am, but went on to play Tommy Merlyn during season one of Arrow before being killed off and then onto Showtime’s The Affair as Scotty Lockhart, who also met an untimely demise… Here’s hoping Dr. Connor Rhodes is around for a while!

Earlier this year, Colin married Broadway star Patti Murin and if their adorable social media posts and constant tweets of love and support for each other are anything to go by, these two are one of the sweetest couples we have ever seen. YouTube their performance of Sara Bareilles “I Choose You” if you are not convinced. (But also just to see Colin sing and play the guitar. <3)

We had a chat to Colin at the red carpet event for #NBCChicagoDay to find out what he thinks makes his character Dr. Connor Rhodes a nice guy and what advice he would give his character. We also ask Colin what he thinks makes himself a Nice Guy and we have to say after chatting to him, we’re definitely sold! (Hint: he’s totally a people person and a dog lover.) Watch the video below to see what he says…

Check Colin out on Chicago Med, Tuesdays at 9/8c on NBC.
