1. Noah seems to have made things worse by going back in time. Which change surprised you the most?

Cay: Noah can’t say that Hiro didn’t warn him about messing with time! It is cool way to tell a story, although I tend to get easily confused when there are two timelines. It took me way too long to [maybe] sort out what was going on with Tommy’s storyline.

Mel: Did anything change? Noah recovered his memories, but I don’t think anything changed. Bear with me, we’re going into the time travel black hole. It was because Noah and Hiro did what they did, going back in time to save the twins and send them FURTHER back in time that we met 16-year-old Malina and Tommy at the beginning of the season in their respective situations. So, basically, they’d already gone back in time before we saw it happen, meaning everything we’ve seen so far is the result of Noah and Hiro’s little time-travel trip.

Liz: I honestly didn’t think that Quentin was working for Erica all along. Maybe I’m confused by all the timetravel too but didn’t Phoebe kill her own brother? Why would she do that if they were working together for Erica? I think that changed.

2. What do you think is the big secret that Angela never told Malina?

Cay: I think the big secret would be Tommy and how only one of them did she prophecy to save the world.

Mel: I assume she never told Malina that she had a twin. And now it makes total sense that they sent Tommy and Malina around together during press at Comic Con. Man, they gave us a giant clue and I don’t think any of us picked up on it!

Liz: It may be that she never told Malina that she had a twin brother, but I think it’s more than that. I don’t know what, but I think it has to do with what will happen when she and Tommy save the world. Maybe I’m overthinking!

3. What are your thoughts on Joanna’s morbid transformation?

Cay: I had hoped for some better explanation of how Joanna and Luke went off the edge, but now I’m convinced that she is/was a sociopath and I don’t understand why he went along in the first place. The scene with the cold Evo in the hotel room didn’t at all make me empathize with her, it confirmed my initial assessment that she is evil. Joanna and Luke just aren’t believable as a couple, in this episode, or any others.

Mel: That was seriously disturbing. I can’t decide if losing her son broke her or woke some dormant sociopathic tendency. Either way, she gave me chills.

Liz: Yeah, Joanna has gone bye-bye. I think her grief broke her and I don’t think she can come back from that. She is not rowing with both ores and she’s creepy.

4. A lot was explained about some of the key characters in this episode. Are you satisfied? Disappointed? Confused?

Cay: I liked the explanation of Katana Girl and how Hiro got stuck in Evernow and I was seriously disappointed to find out that Quentin was working with Renault all along!!! I really liked him and thought he was a good guy.

Mel: Quentin! Dude, working for the dark side?

Liz: I was really happy to finally find out why Claire died. It makes total sense that her power to regenerate was absorbed by her baby. It was bothering me. I liked the whole idea that Hiro took Tommy/Nathan and raised him along with the nurse who delivered him. I bet Hiro was a fun dad.

5. General thoughts on the episode? Favorite scenes/quotes?

Cay: It was nice to get so many pieces of the puzzle, but the differing storylines because of the time traveling got a bit confusing!

Mel: All those converging timelines were challenging to follow, but I think I kept up. It was nice to see Hiro have a wife and family, even knowing how it was going to end.

Liz: I really liked this episode! It provided a lot of information and answered a lot of our questions. It’s really moving the show along to its (hopefully) climactic finale. I think my favorite line was Hiro’s: “Save our son; save the world.” A nice throwback to the original series.
