ICE SCULPTURE CHRISTMAS: A Holiday Cinderella Story

By  |

It’s so good to see Rachel Boston on my TV screen again. I have missed her underlying perkiness in her characters. In “Ice Sculpture Christmas” Rachel plays a would-be chef, Callie Shaw, working as a dishwasher in a posh country club restaurant, the same one her father has worked in for years. The chef in charge is a personal idol of Callie’s and a tough boss.

Though Callie studied hard in culinary school, and is very talented and creative, she understands that sometimes you have to sit on the bench before you can play with the pros, so she cheerfully shows up for work to tackle the mountains of dishes. From the kitchen sink she can watch and learn from Chef Gloria, and Callie couldn’t be happier.

Callie has a rival though. Her name is Jen and Jen is willing to do anything to win the apprentice position, and she doesn’t play fair. She soon learns, however, that what goes around, comes around.

Callie’s other amazing talent is in ice sculpting. The movie starts out in a flashback to when Callie was a child and her parents took her to the Annual Ice Sculpture Contest that is held every year there. One of the sculptors gives Callie a piece of ice from his work and the next thing we know, Callie is creating an ice snowman on her front lawn as an adult.

With a little help from her childhood friend, David, Callie overcomes pitfalls and trials as she, herself, competes against Chef Gloria and the ambitious Jen in that same contest. Her friendship with David warms up and begins to grow with each ice chip that falls.

“Ice Sculpture Christmas” is another heartwarming and delightful Hallmark holiday movie that shouldn’t be missed. David Alpay is Callie’s Prince Charming in this Christmas Cinderella story and the two of them can chase away even the bluest of blues.

“Ice Sculpture Christmas” premieres Saturday, Nov. 7th, at 8/7c on the Hallmark Channel. Take a peek!
