October TV Calendar

The following list provides the dates of the returning cable and major network dramas as well as new cable and major network dramas, made-for-TV movies and mini-series that will air during October:

October 1 – The Blacklist will air its season premiere on NBC at 9 PM

October 1 – Bones and Sleepy Hollow will air both of their season premieres on FOX at 8 and 9 PM respectively

October 1 – The season finale of Dominion will air on Syfy at 10 PM

October 3 – The movie Fan Girl will debut on ABC Family at 9 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Telulah Farrow (Kiernan Shipka) is 15, sarcastic and obsessed with only two things in life: the pop rock band All Time Low and becoming a filmmaker. Her biggest problems of the moment are coming up with a killer final-film project for school and dealing with her mom Mary’s (Meg Ryan) newfound love of social media. A source of contention between the two, Telulah doesn’t understand that Mary has immersed herself wholeheartedly in that world simply in the hopes of being included in her daughter’s life. But as it turns out, Mary’s newfound social media savvy has its unexpected perks when she reconnects with an old acquaintance with a big connection to All Time Low. Telulah’s whole life changes in one night when she gets a once-in-a-lifetime chance to see her music idols in concert; this is the perfect chance to combine both her passions, make a movie about All Time Low and have a real shot at winning the film competition. Along with sassy sidekick Jamie and underachieving, highly energetic film-class-partner Darvan, Telulah goes after what she wants and learns a little about life, family and herself along the way.

October 3 – The Hallmark Channel movie Autumn Dreams will debut at 9 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Young and madly in love, Annie (Jill Wagner from Teen Wolf) and Ben (Colin Egglesfield from Rizzoli & Isles and The Client List) run away from her family farm and elope, but the marriage ends before it can begin when her parents have it immediately annulled. Years later they discover a paperwork glitch which means they’re still husband and wife — big problem since they’re both about to marry other people! While the clock ticks away toward their respective weddings, the sparks fly as they’re forced to re-unite to make their divorce legal.

October 3 – The Unauthorized Beverly Hills 90210 Story will debut on Lifetime at 8 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: This made-for-TV movie reveals the roller coaster ride behind the show’s first four seasons, highlighting the drama between cast members and producers both on and off-set as they journeyed together from near-cancellation to unparalleled fame and success. The cast includes mostly unknowns in the roles of Ian Ziering, Luke Perry, Gabrielle Carteris and Brian Austin while Max Lloyd-Jones (When Calls the Heart) will appear as Jason Priestley, Abbie Cobb (Suburgatory) as Jennie Garth, Abby Ross (Once Upon a Time) as Tori Spelling, Alyssa Lynch (The Unauthorized Saved By the Bell Story) as Tiffany-Amber Thiessen and Samantha Munro (Degrassi) and Dan Castellaneta (The Simpsons) as Aaron Spelling.

October 4 – The season finale of The Strain will air on FX at 10 PM

October 4 – The season premieres of Madam Secretary, The Good Wife and CSI: Cyber will all air on CBS at 8, 9 and 10 PM respectively

October 4 – Homeland and The Affair will air their season premieres on Showtime at 9 and 10 PM respectively

October 4 – The season premiere of The Leftovers will air on HBO at 9 PM

October 4 – Fear the Walking Dead will air its season finale on AMC at 9 PM

October 4 – The 6-part mini-series Homes Fires will debut on PBS at 8 PM

Mini-Series Synopsis: In August 1939, war with Germany is all but certain. While citizens of the isolated village of Great Paxford each face the prospect of war in their own way, all agree that they must do everything they can to hold their village—and their nation—together. But when the value of the largely social group, The Women’s Institute, is called into question, forward-thinking Frances Barden (Samantha Bond from Downton Abbey) and snobbish Joyce Cameron (Francesca Annis from Cranford) clash over the fate of the Institute and the roles its members can play, far from the front.

NOTE: The mini-series will air from October 4 through November 8.

October 4 – The Hallmark Movies & Mysteries original movie Signed Sealed Delivered: The Impossible Dream will debut at 9 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: The Postables (Eric Mabius, Kristin Booth, Crystal Lowe and Geoff Gustafson) work against the clock decoding a letter to rescue a soldier and reunite her with her family, while Rita competes for the National Miss Special Delivery title in Washington, D.C.

October 6 – The Flash and iZombie will both air their season premieres on The CW at 8 and 9 PM respectively

October 6 – Finding Carter will be back with an all-new 12-episode seas on MTV at 10 PM

October 7 – The season premieres of Arrow and Supernatural will air at 8 and 9 PM respectively on The CW

October 7 – The fifth installment of the FX anthology American Horror Story: Hotel will premiere at 10 PM

October 8 – The season premieres of The Vampire Diaries and The Originals will air on The CW at 8 and 9 PM respectively

October 8 – Haven will be back with its two-hour fall premiere, the culmination of its fifth and final season on Syfy at 10 PM

October 9 – The season premiere of Reign will air on The CW at 8 PM

October 9 – The series finale of Strike Back will air on Cinemax at 10 PM

October 10 – The Unauthorized Melrose Place Story movie will debut on Lifetime at 8 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: The film highlights the remarkable behind-the-scenes moments that shaped the series including early casting drama, Heather Locklear arriving to “save” Melrose Place, and the actors begging their writers for even wilder storylines to make them fan favorites. The cast includes mostly unknowns as Josie Bissett, Andrew Shue, Doug Savant, Vanessa A. Williams, Amy Locane, Courtney Thorne-Smith as well as Ali Corbin (Neighbors) as Daphne Zuniga, Brandon Barash (General Hospital) as Thomas Calabro, Chelsea Hobbs (Make It or Break It) and Ciara Hanna (Power Rangers Megaforce) as Heather Locklear.

October 10 – The eight-part event series The Last Kingdom will air on BBC America at 10 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Based on the best-selling novels by Stephen Butchard, the movie is set in the 9th century. The separate kingdoms which once made up England have fallen to the invading Vikings. Only the great Kingdom of Wessex – the last kingdom – stands defiant under its visionary King Alfred the Great. The cast includes Matthew Macfadyen (Pride & Prejudice and Ripper Street), Rutger Hauer (Blade Runner) and Ian Hart (Boardwalk Empire and Rogue) [among others].

October 10 – The Hallmark Channel original movie Harvest Moon will debut at 9 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: When her family goes bankrupt, privileged city girl Jen Stone (Jessy Schram from Falling Skies) travels to the country to try and fix up a struggling pumpkin farm that her father bought as an investment to get her money back. Not everyone is on board with her changes, least of all Brett (Jesse Hutch from Cedar Cove), the farm’s handsome manager. By working with what she knows best, she discovers the magic of pumpkin skincare and turns the struggling farm around while also falling in love. The film also stars Willie Aames (Eight Is Enough).

October 11 – The Walking Dead will air a 90-minute season premiere on AMC at 9 PM

October 11 – The Hallmark Movies & Mysteries original movie Beverly Lewis: The Reckoning will debut at 9 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Katie LeClerc (Switched at Birth) reprises her role as Katie Mayfield, the new mistress of Mayfield Manor, the estate passed down from her birth mother. In her new world she finds solace in honoring her mother’s memory and in love with Justin Wirth, the Director of her foundation. Katie finds herself torn between two worlds and grieves for her plain Amish life. Unknown to Katie, Daniel Fisher, her lost love, makes a desperate attempt to find her.

October 12 – The new drama Crazy Ex-Girlfriend will debut at 8 PM followed by the season premiere of Jane the Virgin at 9 PM on The CW

Show Synopsis: (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend) Rebecca Bunch (Rachel Bloom from Robot Chicken) is a successful, driven, and possibly crazy young woman who impulsively gives up everything – her partnership at a prestigious law firm and her upscale apartment in Manhattan – in a desperate attempt to find love and happiness in that exotic hotbed of romance and adventure: suburban West Covina, Calif.

October 12 – The second season of Fargo will premiere on FX at 10 PM

October 13 – Chicago Fire will air its season premiere on NBC at 10 PM

October 13 – The second season of Manhattan will air on WGN America at 9 PM

October 14 – The DirecTV drama Kingdom will premiere its second season at 9 PM

October 14 – The season finale of Ties That Bind will air on UP Channel at 9 PM

October 16 – The series finale of Continuum will air on Syfy at 11 PM

October 16 – The second season of Satisfaction will premiere on the USA Network at 10 PM

October 17 – The Hallmark Channel movie October Kiss will debut at 9 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: This made-for-TV movie is about Poppy Summerall (Ashley Williams from How I Met Your Mother), who is hired near Halloween as a temporary nanny by Ryan Lawson (Sam Yaeger from Parenthood), a widowed, work-obsessed executive. Through a series of adventures, the eternally optimistic Poppy sets out to teach Ryan and his two young children what is important in life – unconditional love, family and the joy of everyday occurrences.

October 18 – The new made-for-TV movie Jesse Stone: Lost In Paradise will air on the Hallmark Channel at 8 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Things are running smoothly in Paradise and Police Chief Jesse Stone agrees to serve as a consultant on an unsolved murder case in Boston, which leads him on a deadly quest to bring a serial killer to justice. Based on the bestselling books by Robert, B. Parker. The film co-stars William Devane, Gloria Reuben (ER), Leslie Hope (24) and Luke Perry (Beverly Hills, 90210).

NOTE: This movie will encore on October 25 at 9 PM on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.

October 20 – The third season of Being Mary Jane will premiere on BET at 9 PM

October 20 – Stitchers will air a special Halloween episode of ABC Family at 9 PM (with an encore of the episode at 10 PM)

October 23 – Hemlock Grove will premiere its third and final season on Netflix

October 24 – The third and final season of DaVinci’s Demons will premiere on Starz at 8 PM

October 24 – Good Witch will air its two-hour season premiere on the Hallmark Channel at 9 PM

October 26 – The fall finale of Switched at Birth will air on ABC Family at 8 PM

October 26 – The new CBS series Supergirl will debut at 8:30 PM

Show Synopsis: Based on the DC Comics character Kara Zor-El (Melissa Benoist from Glee), Superman’s (Kal-El) cousin who, after 12 years of keeping her powers a secret on Earth, decides to finally embrace her superhuman abilities and be the hero she was always meant to be. The cast includes Chyler Leigh (Grey’s Anatomy) as Kara’s adopted sister Alex; Calista Flockhart (Ally McBeal and Brothers & Sisters) as Kara’s media mogul boss Cat Grant; Mehcad Brooks (True Blood) as former Daily Planet photographer James Olsen and David Harewood (Homeland) as Hank Henshaw, the head of a super-secret agency. Former Clark Kent Dean Cain and former Supergirl star Helen Slater will make cameos in the pilot as Kara’s adoptive parents.

NOTE: Supergirl will move to its regular timeslot at 8 PM on CBS.

October 27 – The new ABC drama Wicked City will debut at 10 PM

Show Synopsis: This new anthology series will be set in 1982 on LA’s legendary Sunset Strip where police detectives, journalists, drug dealers and club-goers form alliances in order to expose a series killer. The cast includes Ed Westwick (Gossip Girl), Erika Christensen (Parenthood), Taissa Farmiga (American Horror Story), Gabriel Luna (Matador), Karolina Wydra (True Blood) and Anne Winters (Tyrant).

October 30 – Grimm will return for the start of its new season on NBC at 9 PM

October 31 – The new Starz thriller Ash vs Evil Dead will debut at 9 PM

Show Synopsis: Bruce Campbell (Covert Affairs) reprises his role as Ash, the stock boy, aging lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter who has spent the last 30 years avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead. When a Deadite plague threatens to destroy all of mankind, Ash is finally forced to face his demons – personal and literal. The cast includes Lucy Lawless (Xena and Spartacus), Ray Santiago (Touch), Dana DeLorenzo (A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas) and Jill Marie Jones (Sleepy Hollow).
