Killjoys – 1.08 ‘Kiss Kiss, Bye Bye’ Micro Romances & Mad Scientists

John has a new tech toy and he’s a happy boy! He is looking for clues as to Khylen’s whereabouts using his neuro-link Dutch scavenged from their last job together. In his efforts to decipher the link, John makes the brilliant decision to insert the tech into himself requiring a trip to Doc Simms.

Good news, bad news. Simms successfully extracts the link from John but damages the device in the process. The search for Doctor Jager and Khylen led the trio to Utopia! Think geek & goth party heaven and you’re halfway there! And, while John was away Dutch and D’avin played thanks to euphoria in a bottle!Unfortunately their kiss was interrupted all too soon!

D’avin is totally speaking Dutch’s Love Language when he takes her away as a distraction and has her shoot something. Truthfully, the two have a lot of pain in common and each is uniquely able to sympathize with each other.

Utopia led the team to at least one of their intended quarry. Hello Doctor Jaeger! When confronted Jaeger comes clean, well kind of. She says whatever is necessary for them to leave and then uses D’avins neuro-implants against him!

Meanwhile back at the ranch, D’avin and Dutch have just enough time to get together. And, I must tell you, the two of them together are WHITE HOT! Sadly, their connection was short-lived when D’avin went all dead eyed and attack his new lover!

Dutch manages to contain D’avin and leaves John behind to look after his brother while she tracks down the Mad Scientist for some well deserved payback! Jaeger eventually gets her just desserts, but not before ‘Good Solider’ D’avin stabs his own brother! Oh my GAWD!

John is the heart of Killjoys and it was shockingly painful to see him injured. I surprised myself in just how much I cared what happened to him. Thankfully he survived and the resulting aftermath makes for a most interesting story line!

Observations:
• What will be the future favor?
• John stumbling on Dutch and D’avin’s intimate moment was so awkward! His ensuing conversation with the bartender was HILARIOUS!
• Best Bartender E V E R.
• It’s not you, it’s me speech from Dutch was surprisingly accurate and it makes for a great conflict between the two characters. His actions hit too close home for Dutch and triggered her deeper pain. Well played Killjoys.
