CALL THE MIDWIFE Returns to PBS for Season 4 + Holiday Special

By  |

PBS announced today that they’ve picked up season 4 of Call the Midwife, set to debut in March 29, 2015, plus a holiday special to air in December.

Based on Jennifer Worth’s memoirs and supplemented by original material from Heidi Thomas, Call the Midwife follows the lives of a group of midwives, nuns and nurses working during the post-WWII era in London. Vanessa Redgrave will return as series narrator, as do the other regulars and recently introduced Patsy and Sister Winifred.

Fans can look forward to a new holiday episode to bide their time until the Season 4 premiere. Special guest star Vanessa Redgrave will appear as the mature Jennifer Worth on screen for the first time. The Call the Midwife holiday special airs Sunday, December 28, at 7:30/6:30c on PBS.
