HART OF DIXIE: Should’ve Been a Cowboy

By  |

Goings on in Bluebell: Health and wellness month seems to have been a good stress release for Zoe as she and Joel are preparing for the move, but it’s not going so well for everyone else. Zoe makes a bet with Brick that if the town can lose their collective five-hundred pounds, Zoe can get her half of the practice back and if not she’ll work weekends, as a way to get more money for the remodel of their new house. As only can happen to Zoe, Cricket moved up Cake Fest two weeks to just before the weigh-in. Maybe she won’t get the practice back after all. Cricket won’t explain why she can’t change the Cake Fest date at first, but caves eventually. In a drunken haze, Cricket tells Zoe that Cake Fest was moved up because the Belles are bankrupts and the Fest will bring in money so that they can pay their charter. Cricket lost all the money to buy the affection of the Belles, and then all of the town looks to the cakes rather than the last bike ride before the end of Health and Wellness month. Zoe concedes that Brick might win the bet. At least the town wants to live well even after eating cake.

Tom, upon first reading Joel’s draft, finds the protagonist in the novel hard to read and understand. That leads Joel to go find a real Southern man, aka Wade, to get a real feel for who his character should be. In the end, Joel follows Wade around and finds exactly what makes Wade so charming (sleeping with lots of women and being friendly after and threatening violence when needed). Joel can’t replicate Wade and ends up in his first real fight as a result.

One of the Belles got engaged and asked Annabeth to be a bridesmaid. Maybe that’s not as healthy as it seems to be. The wedding is next month, which is short notice, and with Cricket being busy, Annabeth throws the bachelorette party that night. Annabeth can’t get the entertainment she wants for the party or a venue, but she thinks that Levan might be a good replacement for male strippers. Tom and Meatloaf end up being the entertainment, which is something I never needed to see. Too bad that Annabeth isn’t as satisfied with the slowness of her and Levan’s relationship.

George and Levan sort out their issues as Tom has been asking for help to bring some alpacas to town. But Wanda doesn’t want them and had purposefully asked Levan not to approve it. But that just lead to a run-around for the two of them.

Relationship Drama: George is leery of asking out Tansy again after his break-up with Lynly and is also getting the cold shoulder from Levan. By the end, though, George takes the step and kisses Tansy and asks if they can go out again.

Annabeth finally tells Levan that she’s sure she can wait on their relationship, but only if Levan knows that she’s the love of his life. He does, but not with the conviction that tells her that this relationship is going to last longer than the year.
