REVOLUTION: Advanced Review of the S2 Premiere

By  |

After viewing a special press screener of the first two episodes of REVOLUTION‘s season 2, courtesy of the good folks at NBC, I’ve got to tell you that series creator Eric Kripke was *not* exaggerating when he told us in the press room at San Diego Comic Con that this season would be dirtier, more violent, and more dangerous.

Both episodes are really intense, but there are some funny lines, mainly pop culture references, that add a bet of levity to the gloom. If all you want to know is “are they awesome?”, then the answer is yes, and you’ll see for yourself next week. If you want more details, read on.

***SPOILER WARNING***

Without spoiling anything that hasn’t already been reported, I can tell you that the events in the Tower had life-altering effects on all of the characters and the world they re-entered is more dangerous than the one that they left behind. It’s no longer a secret that both missiles land, obliterating Philadephia and Atlanta, throwing the continent into turmoil, and creating a power vacuum that begs to be (and will be) quickly filled.

In the aftermath, the characters split up to pursue their own quests – for redemption, for sanity, and for vengeance. A beloved character faces life-or-death peril and there’s a bit of a religious undertone to the experience. The nanobots make their continued presence known early on and a certain iconic Texan gets name-checked in a funny/sad scene.

That’s about all I can reveal right now, but trust me – you won’t want to miss it!

Catch the season 2 premiere of REVOLUTION on Wednesday, Sept 25, at 8/7c on NBC
