HART OF DIXIE Recap: I’m Moving On

By  |

Drama Filled Triangle: This week on Hart of Dixie we start off the morning after the last episode. Zoe stops by George’s with some alcohol as a peace offering and the hope that George will forget her ‘I’m in love with you’ scene from the night before. She promises that was the last of her craziness where he is concerned. In fact late last night, after no sleep, she decided to start online dating.
George is leaving for work when Tansy is getting back from walking her dog. She saw Zoe on the road and wonders what she was doing at their place. George tells her everything and she is upset. He tries to smooth it over and Tansy seems to be okay with it until George leaves and then her face loses it’s smile.
I love George, I really do, and I’m all for honesty in a relationship but does he really see this not coming back around to bite him and or Zoe?
Hart-of-Dixie-Episode-2-21-I-m-Moving-On-lemon-and-wade-34318210-800-533Tansy is eating alone at the Rammer Jammer later in the day. When Wanda wants to know what is wrong, Tansy shares the, “Zoe is in love with George” bit she learned earlier. Wade can hear all of this from the bar and he is not at all trying to hide that he is listening. Wanda says Tansy and George need scientific proof they are meant to be together, something she and Tom have. Tansy wants to know how you prove that and Wanda pulls out a card for a lady that can do your star chart. Oh it doesn’t get more scientific then that folks. Tansy must not note my sarcastic tone because she grabs the card and is excited to get started.
That afternoon Tansy gets back to the houseboat after having her star chart done. She finds George laying out a suit, Rose talked him (and Tansy) into being chaperon’s at the prom. Tansy shows George the star charts. They show that she and George are totally compatible. George is skeptical but Tansy says now she can rest easy knowing they are destine to be together and that Zoe will not be coming between them.
As George is getting dressed to chaperon at the prom but he can’t find his blue shirt. Tansy says that is because she had their color chart done too and they need to be wearing more warm colors and less cool colors. She went ahead and put the shirts that don’t correspond in the give-away box.
She goes on to say they are fire signs and since they are living on the water it is a conflict. They are going to need to move the boat onto land, something she has already called someone about. George objects, they are not moving the boat and he would like his blue shirt back. This whole things is nuts. He only let her believe all this nonsense because she needs external validation of their relationship.
George tells her the birth time on the star chart is wrong, he wasn’t born at 6:05AM he was born at 6:05PM. Tansy doesn’t find his opinions all that helpful.
During the prom Tansy gets a little tipsy and watches Zoe dancing with Max’s dad. He walks away after the song giving Zoe just a moment before Tansy walks up to her and calls her a home-wrecker and accuses her of breaking up happy couples. Zoe apologizes to Tansy for the other night. Tansy keeps getting louder and louder until they are both yelling. Cue the music stopping as Zoe yells, “You are right, there is something terribly wrong with me…”
To make matters worse Zoe gets kicked out prom for causing drama.
George finds Tansy in the parking lot leaving the prom. She says she doesn’t feel well and she has to leave. Tansy goes on to say she can’t be in the same place as Zoe, she means in Bluebell. No matter what George says she will always wonder if there is part of him that likes Zoe. Her gut is telling her to get out of town. She wants George to go with her, take their houseboat and go somewhere else. Start over away from Bluebell and Zoe.

Hard Hat Area: At the Rammer Jammer Lemon is getting an estimate to have the damage they caused to the wall/ceiling repaired. Wade keeps assuring Lemon he can fix it himself but she is not so sure.
A few hours later Lavon finds Wade at work to tell him that per the county the Rammer Jammer needs to be shut down until it can be repaired. Wade says no problem, he already did the work, so everything is fine.
A moment later Zoe gets to the bar to meet her first online date. Unfortunately it is Meatball. He lied on his dating profile calling himself a banker from Mobile who went to Vanderbilt. Now Wade really has something to laugh about. He isn’t laughing for long though as one thump of his fist on the bar sends half of the ceiling crashing down around him and a few other patrons.
Later in the day Wade is at the Rammer Jammer with a contractor he found online. The contractor asks Wade to hold the main beam in place while he gets tools from his van. While Wade is holding the beam in place the contractor robs the till. As amusing as it is that Wade got duped by the contractor I find I am completely side tracked by Wade’s arms as he holds the beam over his head. As someone who can repeat back entire conversations days after they happened I find I am having a hard time remembering what was said two lines ago.
Lemon has no such trouble finding her words though. When she gets to the Rammer Jammer to chastise Wade for cancelling her Hart-of-Dixie-Episode-2-21-I-m-Moving-On-lemon-and-wade-34318214-333-500contractor she finds him still holding up the main ceiling beam. He tells her what happened and apologizes for being an idiot and she says they will figure it out, everyone makes mistakes.
That night at the Buttered Biscuit Lemon is rubbing scratch tickets as a way to get money for the Rammer Jammer construction project when Lavon comes in. He wonders if there is anything he can do to help, he even offers to give her the loan himself. She says thanks but no, she is going to do this on her own.

Dancing! Dancing! Dancing!: Rose is over at Zoe’s going through her closet looking for a dress she can wear for prom. Zoe shows Rose her dating profile – a profile that is attracting some real bottom feeders. Rose says she needs to make a few changes if she is going to attract a better quality of man.
Later Max and Rose are at Zoe’s office to try and convince her to be a chaperon for their prom. Zoe says she will not be going to prom, she had a bad experience at her own Senior Prom and that was enough for her. Rose asks her how the online dating is going and we get to see the two guys Zoe has been on dates with, one is basically George and the other is practically Wade. She decided to pass on each of them.
That night Zoe meets Max and Rose for dinner before the prom. However it is not just the three of them, Max invited his father, as a date for Zoe. As soon as Max’s dad gets there Rose and Max make up an excuse and leave them so they can have dinner alone.
After dinner at prom Max’s Dad is talking to Magnolia, she thinks someone spiked the punch. He tries a glass and says he can’t tell so he takes the punch and asks her to pour a new batch. Seriously? He fell for that? This is Magnolia Breeland! She then spikes the punch.

To Have and to Hold: Over at the Breeland’s Brick announces to his daughters that he is engaged to Shelby. They are speechless, for a few moments anyway. It doesn’t last long because he then spills that he was in the hospital with a brain tumor. A few things he hadn’t mentioned to them yet. This is not going as planned.
Later that day Magnolia comes home in a tizzy, the school wont’ let her go to the prom with a nose piercing, which is apparently an actual problem as she now has her nose pierced. Brick is mad but Magnolia says he didn’t consult her about marrying Shelby so she figured she could just do whatever she wanted without consulting him. She knows she is a child right? I’d be ripping that nose ring out or whooping her behind right about now. Brick is upset and when Magnolia brings up that Shelby has already seen it and thinks it is cute Brick yells for Shelby. Magnolia leaves thinking this will start a fight between Brick and Shelby but it doesn’t. Shelby didn’t like the nose ring either but she isn’t Magnolia’s Mom and she doesn’t know how much say she has around the house in general. Brick says they are partners, she should feel free to step up and speak out. Shelby thanks him and heads off to talk to Magnolia.
That afternoon Lemon stops by her Dad’s place with a request, Shelby gets up to leave them to talk but Brick insists she stay. Lemon tells Brick about the robbery and the lack of funds to fix the bar. She barely gets the words out when Brick is asking how much she needs. Shelby however asks how bailing Lemon out now will do her any favors, she needs to stand on her own two feet. Lemon should work it out on her own, like she has been doing so far. Brick suddenly does see Shelby’s side and Lemon leaves to work it out on the own, not happily I might add.
Over at the Breeland’s, in the evening, Brick tries to sneak out with a check he wrote for Lemon when Shelby catches him. She can’t believe he is undermining her. Brick says Lemon is his daughter and she is hurting, you help the ones you love when they are down. He says you don’t just run off when the ones you love need you – apparently he is still mad that Shelby took off when he was in the hospital.

Compromise: In the town square Annabeth and Lavon are strolling hand in hand when they smell something absolutely terrible. They walk into the woods a bit and see a huge pile of garbage complete with goats roaming around. Turns out the garbage is on the Filmore county line, the Mayor of Filmore put their dump on that line to get back at Lavon for getting an injunction against their mall. Annabeth tells him he can’t keep retaliating in a childish way. He disagrees.
Lavon is in the car with Annabeth on their way home when Lavon pulls over in front of the Mayor of Filmore’s house to drop garbage off on his front step. The Mayor comes out and talks some smack and Lavon answers back before Annabeth tells him to get in the car right now. The Mayor’s wife tells him to get back in the house as well. They are not amused by their men’s behavior.
That evening across town the Mayor’s wife and Annabeth are in hats and big glasses having a secret meeting. Annabeth thinks they can come up with a compromise.

Wrap Up: Lavon finds Wade and Lemon drinking at the Rammer Jammer. They are a little depressed but Lavon says not to call it just yet. Lavon isn’t there to offer money, he is there to offer help. Behind him the town starts to flood through the doors. With all of them helping they can get the place up and running by breakfast. Things are looking up for them – finally.

Brick comes into the living room to apologize to Shelby for the fight earlier. He is having trouble trusting and she thinks they need to figure out where they stand with each other. She says if only they were already married that would prove their commitment. He agrees, he hates the part between dating and married. They then talk themselves into getting married tomorrow.

Annabeth finds Lavon at the bar to tell him she made a deal with the Mayor’s wife and the dump is being moved in exchange for no fireworks on the 4th of July. Fireworks is something the fire department won’t let them do anyway because last year they may have burned down a pier. It’s a win win for Bluebell. Lavon seems pleased.

George gets to the Rammer Jammer and he looks like he is about to cry, he tells Lavon Tansy won’t be joining them at all.

Outside Zoe’s place she is sitting with some wine waiting for Wade. Wade makes a joke but Zoe shushes him. She has had a hard day. She wants to feel better for a little while tonight, something that doesn’t include any talking. Wade follows her into her house with no hesitation.
