Advanced Review: RESTLESS VIRGINS Lifetime Movie

By  |

This Saturday, March 9, Lifetime will premiere their latest made-for-TV movie called Restless Virgins, which is inspired by actual events.

The film stars Switched at Birth cast members Vanessa Marano and Max Lloyd-Jones as well as Charlie Carver (one of the twins from Desperate Housewives) and Timothy Busfield (of thirtysomething fame) in a story about the students at Sutton Academy, a well-to-do East Coast private school that was rocked by scandal.

It’s senior year for the main characters of the story and the focus is on the popular kids, the boys on the lacrosse team and the most popular girls in the school as well as the “Hysterics”, the members of the school’s newspaper staff.

Not unlike any other school, the students are concerned about their classes, their grades and their futures – yeah, right? These students, like far too many all over the globe, seem to be more interested in partying, being popular and just getting through the day if they aren’t popular than anything else. While the not-so-popular kids just want to fit in and have a little bit of fun before their final year of high school ends, the popular kids – especially Dylan Whitman (Carver), the son of a billionaire senator – wants to leave their mark on the school through the “senior hand-off” – the school’s annual passing of the torch to the junior class.

But this year’s hand-off is going to literally and figuratively blow everyone’s mind (and not in a positive way at all). Six of the lacrosse members – with Dylan as their ringleader – devise a plan to make a sex tape that they believe will put them in the record books, making them legends forever at the school.

Sworn to secrecy, the six boys and Lucas (Lloyd-Jones), the one member of the lacrosse team who doesn’t end up on the tape, are found out because one of the boys just couldn’t keep the secret. Their sex tape then makes it into the hands of Emily (Marano), who leaks it to the entire institution through the school’s newspaper, bringing about a major controversy for the private school as well as a possible expulsion for herself and the members of the lacrosse team. You’ll have to tune in to find out all the details.

The cast of the movie includes Jedidiah Goodacre, Zach Martin, Rami Kahlon, Anup Sehdev and Christie Burke.

Restless Virgins will debut on Lifetime on Saturday, March 9 at 8/7c.
