Nice Boy of the Week: Ben Bass

Please help me welcome Ben Bass as the newest member of the Nice Boy of the Week Club.

Ben got his start in theater while studying at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts in England before settling in Toronto, Ontario in the late 80’s.

He has had a number of guest roles on shows from 21 Jump Street to Monk and in the mid 90’s he joined the cast of Forever Knight as Javier Vachon, a Spanish Vampire. A part that gave him quite a bit of recognition. The show however was short lived as the whole Vampire Craze had not quite gained its momentum.

Garnering critical acclaim Ben has twice been nominated for Gemini Awards. Once for Bury the Lead and once for Would Be Kings.

Currently Ben can be seen on ABC’s Rookie Blue as Sam Swarek.
After years of undercover work Sam’s cover is blown and he must go back to being a beat cop. Something he is not happy about until sparks start to fly with his new rookie Andy, played by Missy Peregrym.

Rookie Blue is a good summer cop show that features the lives of the characters as much as it does the crime of the week. Ben’s chemistry with not only Missy but everyone on the show is a huge part of why it all works.
