Castle: “Once Upon a Crime” sneak peek

Little Red Riding Hood?

I just watched the first ten minutes of this week’s upcoming episode of Castle, “Once Upon a Crime”. Along with the promos, it gave me a tantalizing preview of what’s to come. It looks pretty hilarious. A nice silly break from the last two much more serious episodes.

Beckett and her team are assigned to investigate a string of murders that have been staged to look like fairy tale scenes. I’m not sure how many deaths occur, but I saw the first two – Little Red Riding Hood and Snow White. The first victim, even though she is found in a Red Riding Hood costume, doesn’t seem to be the type of person who would dress up and re-enact the fairy tale in Central Park.

"Castle, that is a surprisingly reasonable and grounded theory."

Rick: "Yeah. Frankly, I'm a little disappointed in myself". Javier: "We all are Bro."

Martha's Screenplay

The previews also contained part of a secondary storyline, in which Martha has written a one-woman play about her life. She creatively embellishes some of the facts, and not just facts about herself. Apparently Castle’s flamboyant mother is going to take a little extra credit for helping her son launch his writing career. Martha reveals she slept with his first publisher – a much younger man. Rick seriously needs some brain bleach to get those images out of his head.

Martha and Her Screenwriting Partner

I’m excited about this one… even though ABC hasn’t hyped it as much as the last three. Looks like it’ll be a cute little one-shot so we can decompress a little. Might even be a few moments of sticky-sweet Casketty goodness.

Castle: “Once Upon a Crime” airs this Monday, February 27th at 10pm Eastern.

Karen Lindsay, often teased as being "obscurely famous," talks a lot. (i.e. she podcasts). Her current and past projects involve television shows like "Chuck", "Castle", "Orphan Black", "Farscape", "Supergirl", "Lucifer" and many others. She's an avid gamer, reader, & collector of all things shiny - and while you may not think those things go hand-in-hand, they sometimes do. So don't ask her about how many pets she has in Warcraft. (or how shiny they are).
