GLEE: Talking to the TV During “Pot o’ Gold”

By  |

Oh hello Lima! I’ve missed you in the last month! But, that also means I’ve had a month of missing my snarky moments as I watch [easyazon-link asin=”B005OHT2DU”]Glee[/easyazon-link]. Let’s see how well this plays out as I talk to the TV during “Pot o’ Gold”.

I’m not sure I understand the need for an Irish student who has Brittany smitten, but that’s okay.

Then again, there’s Quinn and Puck trying to get more time with Beth by telling Shelby she looks bad.

There’s no real need for Sue to attack [easyazon-link asin=”B00008972S”]West Side Story[/easyazon-link].

Dissent in the ranks is just a sign that the show is looking for contrived plots. Why can’t this show be better about looking for natural conflicts in high school? There are plenty.

Rory is staying with Brittany. Oh that’s just sad, but funny. I do like that Rory wants a “snog” from Brittany.

(Looking at who wrote this, Ali Adler, I hope this lives up to a Chuck episode.)

Quinn–why are you trying all of these stupid ideas to get Beth back?

Burt, there’s a reason you’re my favorite adult male! Getting funding for the play by finding all the mortuaries is a sign of how much you love your son. Can he please just run against her now? Please!

Puking candy bars, Brittany? Why do that to your poor cat? That’s just evil to do to something that doesn’t hurt anyone.

I’d like nothing more than for most of the other sports teams to get pushed into a locker.

Aww, “Being Green”! There’s part of me that wants it to be in French (see Andrew Bird’s version).

Brittany and Santana make my heart happy, even if there’s some angst involved.

Oh hello, shirtless Puck! I’d prefer not to hear you talk about cougars, but when you kill the mood with a picture of Beth, then I forgive you.

Quinn, this big plan is a horrible idea. Getting Beth back is not going to make your life better than it was.

Why is it just the Glee Club that’s bringing in money for the musical? Where’s the theatre?

This is not a song I’d want to hear around any school I work at. Not one I’d want student singing, least of all. Schue, why are you such a horrible influence? Santana is the one not singing with the group. That seems wrong.

Now I see why. Santana, I’d rather you sing at Sectionals, too. Not that I don’t like Blaine at all, but let’s think about the rest of the club, just for once.

Rory? Oh wow. Brittany is really going to eat that? Oh of course!

Schue, I imagine that you’re going to convince Burt to run against Sue, and I applaud the effort. There is power in art, Burt. There is also power in grassroots movements.

This conversation between Puck and Shelby rings wrong on so many levels. But then you save it, Puckerman, by disposing of all the bad things Quinn planted.

More bad ’80s music? I’ve never been a fan of Foreigner, but Puck can make it tolerable.

Finn, don’t kill the delusions of Brittany. It’s also going to lead to you getting two fewer members.

Burt Hummel, this speech is making me love politics more than I already do.

Santana, your effort to turn down your horrible new member is amazing. This is why you’re my favorite girl on the show. I could do without the older Christina as a sign of your girlpower as a quintet, but that’s the least of my worries for now, I think. I’m not a fan of Santana telling Rory to leave the school, just like I’m not cool with Brittany dropping all of the trust she’d put into Rory in the first place.

I’m pretty sure that Special Ed classes aren’t the first classes cut in any school when there are cuts. I’d yell at Sue for it, but I know she doesn’t know any better.

There’s something about letting Rory into the Glee Club that’s not quite right, but it’s never made any sense to me either way.

Santana, there isn’t a competition between the Treble Tones and New Directions, but I’d be surprised if you didn’t keep Mercedes away from Artie, Mike and Tina.

The potential plot with Shelby and Puck is not something I want the show to do–it’s a little too over the top, even for this show.

For the first episode back, I could have had less contrived drama, but most of the time, I watch the show for the music and not the plot.
