Nice Boy of the Week: Anthony Head

By  |

It’s such a long wait for “Merlin” to return and I’m missing it a lot. Meeting Anthony Head and the rest of the cast this past summer at San Diego Comic Con, was one of the highlights of my summer and a small relief. What a delightful man and such a talent. So of course, we had to make him this week’s Nice Boy.

Tony impressed viewers when he first appeared in the Nescafé Gold Blend coffee commercials in the UK, and made for the US as Taster’s Choice coffee. Trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, Tony landed his first role on stage in the popular musical, Godspell. From there, Tony’s active career earned him a spot on the cult favorite Buffy the Vampire Slayer as Rupert Giles.

After finishing out his role on “Buffy”, Tony returned to England and appeared in various television roles including Doctor Who, Monarch of the Glen, Persuasion and  finally landing on Merlin playing King Uther. Tony is one of our favorites here, and we can’t wait to see him in his newest project, Free Agents, premiering on NBC, Sept. 14th.
