Nice Boy of the Week: Goran Visnjic
When it was announced earlier in the week that Goran Visnjic was going to play a villain on Leverage, I knew instantly who this week’s Nice Boy was going to be. More popularly known as Dr. Luka Kovač on ER, Visnjic is also pretty darn good at playing the baddie. Not only was he the abusive ex to Nicole Kidman’s character in Practical Magic, but he was the voice of the wicked ‘Soto’ in Ice Age.
Goran knew early on that he wanted to act. His first performance was in local theater groups and then entered the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Zagreb. At the age of 21, he was cast as Hamlet in the Dubrovnik Summer Festival’s staging of Shakespeare’s play. Goran’s performance won him three national Best Actor awards, including an Orlando (the Croatian equivalent of a Tony). He went on to do “Les Fourberies de Scapin,” “L’Ecole des Femmes,” “Miss Julie,” “Ivanov,” “The Brothers Karamazov” and “Le Baruffe Chiozotte.”
Visnjic’s other screen credits include ‘The Deep End”, “Committed”, “The Peacemaker”, “Close Your Eyes”, “Welcome to Sarajevo”, and the lead in “Spartacus”.
Goran has proven that he has phenomenal range and he’s not too hard on the eyes to boot! Congratulations to Goran Visnjic, Nice Boy of the Week.
