The promo photos for TV shows are often photoshopped to the point that even the most unjaded eye can pick up on it. That’s fine. It’s what the networks do. Once in a while, though, a photo is so posed and reworked that I can’t ignore the post-processing trickery. Case in point, this cast photo for Lone Star, the new series coming to Fox Mondays:
Now that’s a fine looking cast, and as a person who lives on the prairie, I dig that my geography is on display. But while I’m well aware of the winds that go sweeping down the Plains, just which direction is the wind blowing here? Based on Jon Voight’s jacket and Lady In Orange’s gown (I’m still learning names, people), it appears to be coming from the North (they appear to be facing East), yet Lady In Red’s gown and the tallgrass in the foreground are clearly being buffeted by a breeze from the East. You know what we call wind coming from opposite directions around here? A tornado.
Lone Star premieres Monday, September 20 at 9/8c on FOX.
