Weird Mental TV Connections

By  |

Do you have a television show that reminds you of something in real life? Or vice versa? I do. When you watch as much TV as the Nice Girls do, it’s inevitable that some odd mental connections develop. Here are a couple of mine:

  • Law & Order: SVU & Bejeweled Blitz: A couple of months ago, I watched an SVU marathon while playing Bejeweled Blitz on Facebook. Now anytime I pull up Bejeweled, which is more often than is probably health, I think of Detectives Benson and Stabler catching bad guys.
  • The Darling Buds of May & Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough: Three or four years ago, we had an ice storm that pretty much incapacitated the city. Stuck inside with the Darling Buds of May miniseries on DVD and the ingredients for chocolate chip cookies (what can I say, I didn’t make it to the grocery store before the storm hit), my day off was spent watching a very young Catherine Zeta-Jones in this British series and snacking on dough, because that’s always better than cookies. Now whenever I see Zeta, I crave cookie dough. It’s probably a good thing she’s been keeping a low profile.
  • The Tudors & Yoga: This one I can’t trace. There’s a particular pose in my yoga routine, the knee-over pose, that always brings The Tudors to mind. In particular, a scene with Henry VIII and a stained glass window from season 1.

What are your weird TV connections?
