PaleyFest: Attending Vicariously

By  |

I opted not to got to the Paley Festival this year, despite yearning for California sunshine after a snowier than usual Kansas winter. While saving up my vacation time and budget was wise, I sure did miss the excitement of going to the various events and talking TV with other bloggers and fans. Fortunately, the Nice Girls were well represented by Tiffany, Rueben and Louise, so I did get to attend PaleyFest vicariously through them.

I’m beyond envious that they got to see the new episode of Glee so far in advance, then listen to the cast and creative team talk about making the show.  I gave up on Lost a couple of years ago (waiting for the whole thing to be on DVD), but seeing the cast and producers on stage would have been iconic, don’t you think? What a way to mark the end of a television era. Just looking at the photos from the Modern Family panel makes me chuckle. There’s no way having that group of people together wasn’t going to have the audience in stitches. Speaking of laughs, who would have thought the FlashForward panel would be full of jokesters? Meanwhile, I fully expected the Castle panel to generate plenty of guffaws, and it sounds like it delivered. Still to come: Louise’s report on the sexy cast from The Vampire Diaries posts Thursday morning. As editor in chief, I’ve already read the report and am pretty sure the pheromones were clouding the air that night.

In conclusion, I wasn’t there in person, but thanks to the Nice Girls, it almost felt like I was. Good work, ladies!
