Death in the Ratings

It’s a sad day in the world when we start rating a celebrity’s death. Who will benefit from this information? What is the purpose? Is this information meant to stir up the masses for a war on who will be missed the most? Do we really have nothing better to report on?

The truth is, we mourn the loss of a talent, an era, a phase in our lives that will only be there in memory now. Few of us know either of these people personally. They are not a family member or close friend that we went through good times and bad with, no matter what it seems like. ‘Seeming’ is not reality. We don’t own one, single piece of these people.

So, can we put the ratings scale down and for a moment and show some respect for the families and friends of these two people, who are left to live their lives without a loved one? That’s something you simply cannot rate.
